A study in patience and understanding…Dumas Gassac.
Dark purple core, red to platinum rim.
Plum, cocoa powder, menthol, olive, soft floral, cherry cordial, tar, wet gravel, baked earth and bramble notes. Subtle, gracious and nuanced.
Sour cherry palate, violets, tar, bitter chocolate, green olive, camphor and black tea, cherry pit. Dusty tannin profile with mid-palate grip and a generous but bitter coffee bean finish. Alcohol and acid are moderate and balanced. Good concentration. Pure and linear. Lovely old-vine complexity though it seems a bit youthful and coiled at this point.
80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 6% Petite Verdot, 4% Pinot Noir, 3% Syrah.
