February’s 29 days of Chardonnay

The Old, Married Couple
Authored by Tyson Crowley
I feel like one might be able to say “Behind every great Pinot Noir is a great Chardonnay”, as if to suggest that the two varietals are linked as companions and ultimately support one another, even though it’s usually Pinot that gets all the attention!! But the real Chardonnay fans know that an absolute obsession with Pinot Noir without recognition of its white counterpart is short sighted and frankly a little dull. Pinot Noir, after all, could learn a thing or two from Chardonnay as it turns out…like how to dress for every occasion or take care of its self so it will age better or listen more often than speak. I love Chardonnay for its brilliance as a wine but also feel it creates balance in the winery and could not imagine Pinot Noir and Chardonnay without each other…like an old married couple.
